Social media's so confusing now

It's probably because I'm not used to this kind of fandom space, and also because I've mostly never really cared about top/bottom ship dynamics, but I saw some people with "❌🔄" in their bio and thought that meant I wasn't not allowed to retweet their stuff.

I'm an impulsive retweeter, like my hands are quicker than my brain kinda deal, and I get real panicked when I retweet something from someone who has "❌🔄" in their bio.

Apparently, it actually means they won't do reverse pairings! So my panicking was unwarranted!

This experience has significantly aged me :)

I'd never seen that before! I can't imagine not being willing to do reverse pairings, but I guess everyone has their own tastes. (I generally enjoy reversing pairings — I've have fun writing bits where the dominant submits because it makes their partner happy.)

Seems to be more common in some anime fandoms, and even more so in the Japanese side of fandoms for BL. While I have my own preferences (and it's most likely whichever dynamic's the more popular one lol :P) I'm generally open to most things because I am very impressionable hahaha

For some people, yes, apparently haha especially those who draw art or write fic for a ship. Helps manage expectations from other fans that they won't do the reverse of a pairing (e.g. Bakudeku only, no Dekubaku)
