Oooh. Some might not consider all of these tropes (they're more like AO3 tags atp), but I'm going off the top of my head for these:

• Golden retriever/black cat dynamics
• Childhood-friends-to-lovers
  • Childhood marriage promise!!! Or the other variation for older characters: Fallback Marriage Pact
  • Okay, pretty much anything ___-to-lovers lol. Rivals, enemies, friends...
• Coming-of-age stories
• Fake dating
• In Vino Veritas (a.k.a. drunken confessions)
• Pining/mutual pining!!!
• Domesticity
• Royalty AUs or just historical settings with monarchies in general
• Adorably precocious children
• De-aging
• Become a Real Boy/Pinocchio Syndrome
• Modern AUs for fantasy/historical works
• Terminal illness
• Double life stories (assassins, spies, etc. whether in canon or as an AU)
• Unequal social statuses (rich/poor, royal/commoner or royal/retainer, etc.)

I think a lot of these are self-explanatory so there's not much for me to discuss lol. Sorry!

I love all those tropes too. I especially love the "golden retriever/black cat" one, which I've never actually heard it phrased that way before. That explains a lot of the ships I write. XD

ooh yes, with modern aus especially i like to see how the same characterization/dynamic/etc is applied but through modern details, if that makes sense. all fun stuff!

Yeah!! Also, it's really fun to work with characters whose struggles or trauma are rooted in their universe/time period's systems, like how do you translate that into a more modern context? Or do you just do away with it entirely in a "what-if" situation of how they would have turned out without their trauma? Hehe

Pinnochio syndrome is such a favourite trope of mine too. I love that desperation to feel validated in feeling "real" even beyond their intended purpose. It's such a good trope

Lots of fun stuff here! I love the "golden retriever/black cat" phrasing; it's a term I've never seen before but I still knew exactly what it meant as soon as I saw it.

Modern/mundane AUs for historical/fantasy is so fun because there are so many questions to be answered about how you translate one to the other in a way that feels true to both.
